Church Resources & Engagement

At World Relief, we believe God has equipped the church – the most diverse social network on the planet – to be at the center of reconciliation bringing peace, justice, and love to a broken world.  The Church is central to our mission.  In fact, it is our church partnerships that make it possible for WRDA to serve over 5,000 refugee and immigrant clients each year.  Through the giving and sharing of time, energy and finances, the body of Christ welcomes the stranger and fulfills Scripture’s mandate to love and serve the foreign born.

World Relief DuPage /Aurora [WRDA]staff are available to come and present on God’s heart for refugees and immigrants. Presentations can be of any length and for any audience— a small group, the entire congregation or a youth gathering.

Educational Video
WRDA has produced a 4.5 minute video that helps Christians understand the journey of refugees and immigrants coming to Illinois.  Playing this video in services, classes or small groups can promote
understanding and encourage involvement in the lives of vulnerable neighbors.

Special Prayer for Refugees and Immigrants
Include a special time of prayer in your service to ask God’s blessings on refugees and immigrants living in our community, those who serve them, and to ask God’s guidance in how your congregation should be involved in the lives of these vulnerable neighbors.

Newly arriving refugees and immigrants need friends to help them integrate into the community.  WRDA offers training for a wide variety of volunteer opportunities in all of our programs.  We can also help facilitate work among church networks to Stand for the Vulnerable.

The Human Race
Build a team to walk or run in the Dupage Human Race, which is held annually in April.  This fun event raises much needed funds for ministry as well a promoting community involvement, fitness and fun.  Serious runners, fitness walkers, dog walkers and stroller-pushers are all welcome to take part on behalf of WRDA and the people we serve.
